dreaming elephants

While in Africa, I bought the most amazing painting of elephants from the Banana Hill Art Gallery.  It was painted by a Ugandan artist, Ismael Kateregga.  It has a dream-like quality and the colors are exactly what I imagined when it's time to decorate my next place.  These photos don't even do the painting justice.  In person, it is probably a thousand times more stunning, so naturally I will be designing the rest of my living space around it.

The painting will fit in so well with metallics, muted colors as a highlight against neutrals, and of course some girly glamour.

The pops of colors in the rooms below are just enough to liven up the neutral color pallets.

Of course metallics are a huge part of my inspiration. These stairs are to die for, unfortunately, the possibility of stairs being in my city living space is unlikely.

Below are three spaces that display the main characteristics I will use - girly, a pop of color, and neutrals.

If I had to narrow down my inspiration, I think I would choose the three spaces below to base my "elephant room" on!  I can't wait to put my elephants on display!
